Saturday 23rd June saw the coming together of Old Stops, Stockport Grammar staff and friends of the school for our annual summer barbecue.
Held in the quad with a wonderfully sunny backdrop, the event marked reunions for the classes of 2013, 2008, 1988 and 1968, and was an opportunity for staff and visitors to say goodbye to members of staff leaving the school at the end of the academic year. This included long serving teachers Tony Cheslett (Maths) and Ruth Groves (Food Technology) as well as Senior School Headmaster, Andrew Chicken.
Old Stops enjoyed exploring the school, reminiscing about old times and seeing the school’s development, including the new Woodsmoor Building. For some it was their first visit to the school in fifty years, making for an exciting day filled with memories.
Many Old Stops were in attendance with their partners and children – who extremely enjoyed their time on the bouncy castle!
A selection of photos from the event can be viewed on the Old Stopfordians’ Facebook page.
We hope to welcome many more Old Stops back to next year’s reunion – date to be confirmed. If you are interested in attending the 2019 reunion, or would like to suggest a reunion for a specific year group, contact our External Relations team at.
