Apply to Pre-Reception
Choosing the right place for your child to take their first steps in education is one of the most important decisions you will make. Children may join our Pre-Reception during the term in which they turn three, following assessment to ensure that they are ready. On joining us, children become part of our school and their education in the hands of full-time teachers, supported by an experienced team of Pre-Reception assistants.
With our encouraging and stimulating environment, along with access to our outstanding facilities, our Pre-Reception is the ideal place for your child to lay the foundations for their move into reception and beyond, developing new skills, making new friends and having fun whilst learning.
Take a tour
We are always happy to arrange a personal tour for parents thinking about sending their children here as we believe this is the best way to find out about our School. A visit will give you an opportunity for an informal meeting with the Headmaster and a tour of the School, where you will see our children enjoying their normal day to day routines.
When you visit us
Registered applicants are invited, with their parents, to an informal visit in the Pre-Reception where they are observed playing with one of our Pre-Reception staff and the other children. Parents are able to use this time to meet with our Pre-Reception Manager or one of our Early Years teachers to talk about their child, their expectations of the school and find out more about day to day routines.
Once you have decided that Stockport Grammar Junior School is the right choice for your child, you can apply for a Pre-Reception place by completing the online admission form below. A fee of £40 per child is applicable upon submission of the online form.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to pay by cheque or cash, you can print the application form and send it to:
