Michael Smith (OS 1943)
The School was saddened to receive notice of the death of Old Stopfordian, Michael Smith (OS 1943), on 24th September 2018.
Mr Smith attended Stockport Grammar School from 1939 until 1943. Mr Smith was an identical twin and his brother Peter also attended Stockport Grammar School.
Mr Smith’s niece, Gillian Howe, tells us:
“They both regularly played in the cricket and football teams, and both earned their colours in Fives. They were both form captains in Year III, and someone wrote a lovely note wishing them well in the “Salvete Atque Valete” section of the 1943 edition when they left.”
