    Summer Reunion brings Old Stops together

    Stockport Grammar School welcomed 200 Old Stopfordians, current and former staff and their guests to this year’s Retirements and Summer Reunion barbecue on Saturday 24th June.

    73 Old Stopfordians, Governors and guests attended the annual Old Stopfordians’ Association Dinner in the Hallam Hall on Friday 17th March, capping off a thoroughly enjoyable day which began with the Founder’s Day Service at St George’s Church.

    Clare Francis (OS 1994) returned to the school to speak to Business Studies and Economics pupils about her career in the finance industry and answer questions from the A-level pupils.

    2016 marks the centenary of the re-foundation of Stockport Grammar School at the current Hallam site and the school is holding a Heritage Open Morning to celebrate the occasion.

    Former pupils Gabriella Watkins and William Sheard, Headmaster Mr Andrew Chicken and Duke of Edinburgh (D of E) Co-ordinator Mr Steve Pownall were invited to Buckingham Palace for a special event celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

  • Tree of War

    Rave reviews for WW1 musical directed by Oliver Mills (OS 2012)

    Current and former Stockport Grammar School pupils collaborated to give an outstanding production of new WWI musical ‘The Tree of War’.  The production was co-written and directed by Old Stopfordian and emerging composer, Oliver Mills (2012), to commemorate 100 years since the First World War.
