A Presidential farewell and thank you

Former Old Stopfordian President

Founder’s Day marks the traditional end of the Old Stopfordian Presidency. A big thank you to Graham Earles (OS 1983) whose two year Presidency comes to a close today.

During his Presidency, Graham has supported the school in connecting with his peers, the wider Old Stopfordian community and in working with current pupils to understand their needs as they look towards life beyond Stockport Grammar School.  We are grateful for Graham’s dedication and input as President.

The Old Stopfordian President represents Old Stopfordians within the school community and is a member of The Stopfordian Committee, which encourages the development of stronger connections with and between alumni and finds ways in which the school can help alumni and support reunions.

Graham left Stockport Grammar School in 1983 and went on to study History at Sidney Sussex, Cambridge University before pursuing a career in Law with Slaughter & May where he became a Partner. After Cambridge, Graham briefly revisited SGS to cover a leave of absence and teach History alongside the members of staff. It is to History that Graham has returned in recent years, and he has recently completed a PhD at Cambridge University.

Old Stopfordian Clare Francis (OS 1994) will succeed Graham as Old Stopfordian President.
