Carol services celebrate Christmas ahead of festive break

Congregations of pupils, staff, governors, Old Stopfordians and their families gathered for both the Junior and Senior School carol services at St George’s church this week.

The carol services at St George’s church brought families together and the autumn term to a close ahead of the Christmas break.

Senior School service

Fourth year Gemma Bonington opened the senior school service with a beautiful solo performance of Once in Royal David’s City.

Highlights of the candlelit Senior School service included traditional congregational carols and readings by pupils alongside performances by the chorus, junior singers and the chamber choir.

Junior School service

The previous evening’s Junior School service was similarly spectacular, with congregational carols accompanying prayers led by head girl and boy Amy Jack and Alexander Foster and school chaplain Reverend Liz Leaver.
