Countdown to Chicago
Excitement is building as we count down to this year’s Musical Production, ‘Chicago (High School Edition)’.
The shows, which take place on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th, Friday 20th and Saturday 21st March, involve a host of our talented pupils – both on and off stage.
All of the performances take place in the Main Hall with a start time of 7.30pm.
The production, which is based on real life events back in the roaring 1920s, sees nightclub singer Roxie Hart shoot her lover and, along with cell block rival, double-murderess Velma Kelly, she fights to stay away from death row with the help of smooth talking lawyer, Billy Flynn.
Auditions for the production took place in September with pupils applying for music, dance and drama roles.
Holly Buckley takes up the role of Roxie Hart and Grace Shropshire will play Velma Kelly. Billy Flynn will be played by Cam Wylie whilst Emma Scorah is Mama Morton.
Other cast members are Gabe Keeble (Amos), Eddie Griffiths (Mary Sunshine), Sam Wilkinson (Fred Caseley), Callum Barton (Fogarty), Niamh Warburton (Liz [Pop]), Tahlia Smith (Annie [Six]), Fiona Telfer (June [Squish]), Caitlin Cutts (Hunyak [Russian]) and Almira Awan-Rutter (Mona [Lipshitz]).
The cast will be supported by the Chorus and a backstage team including set design, costume, stage and lighting and front of house.
Tickets for the show are £10 for adults and £7.50 for children.
