England Rugby tour selection delights Frank

Frank Chatterton

Massive congratulations to Lower Sixth student Frank Chatterton who has been selected for England Rugby Under 18’s tour to South Africa.

The Sale Sharks Academy player joins 25 other players from across the country who will compete in a three match international series that will take place in the Cape Town area between 14 and 29 August.

Speaking about his selection, Sixth Former Frank said: “I am really looking forward to the tour. This will be the first time I will play for my country so I am really excited to get out there and play.

“The thing I am looking forward to at the moment is getting my official kit sent over. I think the excitement will kick in when it arrives.”

Mr Hugo Corbett, Head of Rugby at SGS, added: “I am thrilled for Frank as I know just how hard he has worked to gain selection for the tour. Over the past couple of years he has suffered from some setbacks, but the way in which he has responded to these is what sets him apart from other players.

“Whilst Frank works extremely hard, he also recognises the role that his teammates have played at school in supporting him and pushing him to this level. His selection goes to show how schools, clubs (Manchester RFC) and academies (Sale Sharks) can work together with what is best for the player at the centre of their thoughts.”

More details about the tour will be released by England Rugby in due course.
