GCSE success celebrated at Presentation Evening

Students spent an evening celebrating their Senior School years and GCSE achievements at the annual GCSE Presentation Evening.

The event, which was attended by students, their parents, staff and governors, opened with music from students and a buffet reception before a montage of photos reminded everyone of the many activities enjoyed by the cohort on their way through school.

The presentation was introduced by Head of Middle School Mrs Jackie Smith before Headmaster Dr Paul Owen spoke to the assembled guests, urging the students to have confidence and take opportunities.

The students were then presented with their exam certificates by the Headmaster and Mr Niall Clarke, their former Head of Fifth Year.

School Council representatives Phoebe Mason and William Woodside then took to the stage and were delighted to see so many of the former Fifth Years at the evening.

Phoebe and William both spoke about the sense of community amongst the students and the big changes in the experience of school life which occur with the move from Fifth Year to Sixth Form.

The evening closed with musical performances and Mrs Smith thanked Holly Buckley, Caitlin Cutts, Teddy Hotchkies, Zoe Shah, Grace Shropshire, George Zelhof, Rosie White and Katie Collier for the wonderful entertainment they had provided.
