Golf day raises money for bursary fund

Golfers raising money for the bursary fund

Our annual golf day in association with the Vernon Building Society took place last week at Stockport Golf Club in aid of our bursary fund.

The day, now in its eighth year, was a great success. Despite the forecast for bad weather, the sun shone on the 17 teams while they enjoyed a competitive round of golf on a fantastic course.

Congratulations to the team from Brewin Dolphin who won the competition with a score of 87 points, while Lockton Hyders finished a close second with 84 points and Manchester Paper Box came third with 83. Well done also to Matt Davies for the longest drive at the 10th hole and to Dan Turner for nearest the pin at the 16th.

The profit raised on the day goes directly to the Stockport Grammar School bursary fund. It is our goal to offer as many local children as possible the opportunity to come to the school regardless of their ability to pay.
