National titles are in reach for our netball and hockey teams

It’s an exciting week of finals for our U13 netball and hockey teams as they aim to become national champions.

The Netball team will play Redmaids’ High School in the final of the Independent Schools National Cup (ISNC) at Redbridge Sports Centre in Essex on Friday.

Along the way, the girls have enjoyed some thrilling victories including a 28-27 home win against St Catherine’s School in the semi-final.

In the first round, they beat The Grammar School at Leeds 28-21 and this was followed by a 27-26 victory over Haileybury School which secured their place in the quarter final. A massive 39-12 away victory over Emanuel School saw the girls sail through to the semis.

Head of Netball Mrs Laura Goddard: “The squad is a combination of U12s and U13s and they have worked incredibly hard all season to reach the final. They are a talented squad and thoroughly deserve this success. We are all looking forward to the final on Friday.”

The Hockey squad are also in line for a prestigious title as they battle to win the National Schools North West Finals tomorrow.

En route to the final, the girls have beaten Withington Girls’ School, Cheadle Hulme School and Loreto College and secured draws against Altrincham Grammar School and Manchester High School for Girls.
