Paris trip gives pupils invaluable French language practice
Some of the most famous Parisian sights were visited by 39 fourth year pupils over the Easter break on a six day trip to the French capital where they discovered the city’s culture and improved their language skills.
Days were split between French lessons and visits to landmarks such as the Sacré Cœur, Montmartre, the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées and the Louvre, before evenings were spent staying with local families.
A trip to Disneyland was a highlight for many, while pupils also enjoyed a boat trip on the river Seine from which they admired Notre Dame, la Conciergerie and the Musee d’Orsay.
French teacher Mrs Benedicte Garnier, who led the trip, was particularly impressed with the pupils on the visit:
Although the trip stretched their linguistic skills, the pupils rose to the challenge and they should be very proud of what they have achieved in these few days.
