Pupils cook up a treat for MasterChef competition

Pupils demonstrated their creative cooking skills as they took part in the final of the school’s MasterChef competition.

Nine pupils took part in the final after making it through the heats and it was second year pupil Oliver Ensor-Adams who secured the top prize.

Oliver delighted the judging panel, which included the Head Chef from Alderley Edge restaurant The Grill on the Edge, with his main course of steak with mustard sauce and sweet potato and orange mash followed by banana and honey galettes with sugar decorations.

He was awarded a £100 voucher for the restaurant which served his dish as a special the weekend after the final.

The runner up prize went to Matthew Byle who made roasted salmon steak with sweet chilli jam served with stir fried vegetables followed by lemon curd meringue roulade with pistachio

Lucy Snell won the Middle School trophy thanks to her starter of halloumi cheese and humus dip followed by maple and balsamic glazed lamb chops with mint, roasted almonds, roast vine tomatoes and roast potatoes.

The other finalists were Bella Elms, Natalie Bennett, Sam Hall, Emilia Monks, Liam Oakes and Rebecca Atkinson.

Well done to everyone who took part – every dish looked amazing!
