Sunshine and showers as Summer Fair raises over £6k

Over £6,000 was raised at this year’s Stopfordian Parents’ Association Summer Fair.

Guests at the annual event, which took place on Saturday 25 June, raised the amazing amount during a fun-filled day of activities, shows and games.

Despite downpours interrupting the sunny weather there was a jovial atmosphere as children and adults alike got into the summer spirit.

Activities included face painting, a photo booth, a raffle, wrestling in sumo suits and various rides on the visiting traditional fairground. The Bake Off competition welcomed a host of excellent looking, and tasting, cakes whilst junior school Headmaster Mr Wheeler gamely took his place in the stocks as throwers took aim at him with wet sponges!

Additionally there were wonderful, and well-received, performances of the Jungle Book by touring pantomime company Garry Starr Productions.

The Stopfordian Parents’ Association would like to thank everyone involved with the organisation of the event and to all those who came and created such a special day.
