Following government guidelines, Stockport Grammar Junior and Senior Schools moved to remote learning from the start of the Spring Term. All our Pre-Reception children can still be taught in school and we are delighted to see them each day as well as a small number of Junior and Senior pupils whose parents are key workers.

Pupils and Old Stopfordians created a Virtual Christmas Celebration to mark the traditional Stockport Grammar School Carol Service, which is usually held at St. George’s Church each year.

Each year, pupils from the Fourth and Fifth Year at Stockport Grammar School have the opportunity to take part in the Silver CREST Award.

Stockport Grammar School marked this year’s Remembrance with a virtual service shared across the school.

Our SGS Sixth Form Virtual Open Event is now live! Due to the current Government guidelines we are of course unable to host the Sixth Form Open Event in its traditional format, so in its place all of our A-level departments have filmed presentations to provide you with detailed information on their subjects.

With a month of the academic year already behind us and the half-term break on the horizon, we are delighted with how well our pupils have settled back into life at SGS while following all the new Covid-safe routines.

Upper and Lower Sixth Form students at Stockport Grammar School have been enjoying fantastic new facilities thanks to development of the Sixth Form areas.

Fourth Year Geography pupils headed to the peaceful surroundings of the Peak District on a field trip to collect data for their GCSE course.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic cancelling the annual Art and Design Exhibition, the department wanted to ensure that the effort, determination, application and skill demonstrated by our GCSE and A-level students was recognised. They have done this by collating many of the fantastic pieces of artwork into an excellent catalogue.

The talents and hard work of our actors, musicians, dancers and stage technicians came together beautifully to create dazzling performances of Chicago, SGS’s 2020 musical production.
