    The biennial Careers Convention brought together over 65 representatives from a wide range of professions, industries and universities to offer advice and information to pupils and their parents concerning possible choices of career and Higher Education courses.

  • Girls and boys calculate the right formula for success in Maths

    Earlier this year our pupils celebrated a prestigious code-breaking double, winning both the Alan Turing Cryptography Competition and the National Cipher Challenge – Senior Deputy Head Mrs Donna Harris was asked to write an article for respected education magazine Conference and Common Room about the Maths teaching which led to this success.

    Our Upper Sixth were celebrating success this morning as they collected their A-Level results, with over 53% of all grades awarded at A* and A and 80% of results awarded at A* to B. 22% of all grades were awarded at A*.

    Our GCSE students were enjoying their achievements this morning, with a set of outstanding results. 58% of grades were awarded at A* to A and 58% at 9, 8 and 7. Thirty pupils achieved nine or more of these top grades.

    Prize giving celebrations brought the school year to a close, with former England Hockey Captain and Olympic Gold Medallist Kate Richardson-Walsh OBE returning to her home town of Stockport as the guest speaker for the Senior School and poet Matt Goodfellow presenting the Junior School awards.
