Following last year’s successful launch, we are delighted that the school’s literary magazine ‘Like, Literary’ has returned for a second edition.

Issue Six of the ‘SGS Historian’, a magazine created by Lower Sixth pupils in the History department, is now available to read.

Lower Sixth students attended a two-day Higher Education conference held at school to assist them with their forthcoming applications for University, Higher and Degree level apprenticeships and the world of work.

Four dancers from SGS have been offered places at prestigious dance schools after delivering fantastic performances at their auditions.

Six Lower Sixth students utilised their problem solving and engineering skills as they took part in this year’s Industrial Cadets Gold Project.

On the 19th March we celebrated 534 years since the foundation of Stockport Grammar School by Sir Edmond Shaa, Prime Warden of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths and Mayor of London.  Pupils, staff and Old Stopfordians marked the occasion with a Virtual Founder’s Day Service directed by School Chaplain Reverend Leaver.

Musicians at SGS have been refining their talents with ensemble performances and, during lockdown, a series of challenges set by the Music department.

We are delighted to be ranked the top independent school in the North West for sport by School Sport Magazine in their annual Top 200 schools list.

Following government guidelines, Stockport Grammar Junior and Senior Schools moved to remote learning from the start of the Spring Term. All our Pre-Reception children can still be taught in school and we are delighted to see them each day as well as a small number of Junior and Senior pupils whose parents are key workers.
