What happens on a tour

Tours run during school hours (except lunchtimes) in term time and allow you and your family to see what Stockport Grammar is like on a normal school day.

All visitors to the school should report to the gatehouse at the main entrance before a tour. Tours usually last about an hour and are led by our Admissions Officer.

They can be tailored to suit each individual child dependent on their interests – this can be discussed with the Admissions Officer prior to your tour. You will then be able to see classes being taught and observe the working environment of the school.

Social distancing measures will be observed during tours and we would ask that you please wear a face covering (this does not apply to children under the age of 11).

School tours must be pre-booked. To request a tour, please complete this form or call our Admissions Officer Margaret Connor on 0161 419 2409.

Virtual Visit

If you can’t make it into SGS, we are able to invite you to make a virtual visit to explore the exceptional education experienced by pupils at Stockport Grammar School.

Virtual visits must be pre-booked. To request a virtual visit, please complete this form.
