Taster Days

Each year we invite Year Five children to enjoy a day in the Senior School as they prepare for the exciting transition to secondary school.

What happens on a Taster Day

After registering in the hall in the morning the Headmaster will welcome visitors. Children will be assigned to a group for the day with whom they will take part in a series of fun and educational activities such as Science, English, PE and Art. The activities are designed to help children meet new friends, sample new educational experiences and come away enthused about senior school life.

Lunch

Children will have the opportunity to meet up and socialise with members of the other groups during lunchtime. We will provide refreshments and lunch, where there is a wide choice of options to suit most tastes and dietary requirements.

Clothing and equipment

Children should wear casual clothes with trainers so that they are comfortable and able to take part in a PE session.

We provide all the equipment the children need for their lessons.

Collection

Children are collected from the hall at the end of the day, there will be members of the teaching and admissions teams available to discuss all aspects of life at SGS.
