Best-selling, award-winning writer Phil Earle gave a wonderfully energetic, interactive and entertaining author talk in the Library to First Years.

Our incredible musicians kicked off the year of formal concerts at SGS with an excellent evening of music in the Dining Hall for the Autumn Concert.

During the Autumn half-term, 41 pupils from the Fourth and Fifth Year headed to Lisbon for a five-day rugby trip.

As we approached half-term, the Sports department took time to reflect on how the season has gone so far.

Following on from their expedition to Honduras, Biology pupils from Fifth Year to Sixth Form visited the Natural History Museum in London at the invitation of Dr Erica McAlister, the Senior Curator for invertebrates and internationally renowned Diptera (flies) expert.

We are delighted to announce that Stockport Grammar School has received the highest possible rating from the Arts Council England, with a Platinum Artsmark Award.

Towards the end of the 2022-2023 academic year, First Year pupils crossed the Channel to enjoy a few days in France where they worked on their language skills and found out more about the country and its people.

At the end of the Summer term 17 pupils from Fifth Year to Upper Sixth embarked on a Biology expedition with the biodiversity research and conservation organisation, Operation Wallacea.

Thanks to the amazing Stopfordian Parents’ Association volunteers, each year the SGS community of parents and pupils comes together to have fun while raising funds to enhance the children’s school experience. Every parent is automatically a member and invited to attend the AGM on the 28th September (6.30pm in the Governors’ Room).
