    In place of the usual Senior School Inter-House Athletics events and the Junior School Sports Day, the Physical Education and Sport department held an online Sports Day.

    The excellent work, grit and enthusiasm of pupils in both the Senior and Junior Schools was recognised with virtual Awards Assemblies at the end of the academic year.

  • Eco-Schools book raises funds for Chester Zoo

    The Junior and Senior School Eco-Committees came up with the imaginative idea of raising funds for Chester Zoo by creating a book filled with pictures, poems and experiences of the attraction.

    Stockport Grammar School provides exceptional musical opportunities for every child and this has continued whilst pupils have been learning at home.

  • Virtual Careers Days

    Second and Third Year pupils have been participating in virtual careers days to explore a variety of career options and the necessary requirements to reach them.  Forty guest speakers, representing a wide range of industries, gave in-depth insights into their career paths with many Old Stopfordians presenting their journey after leaving SGS.

  • Virtual Higher Education Conference

    On the afternoon of Wednesday 20th May, Lower Sixth pupils had the opportunity to begin to move their preparations for life beyond school on to the next stage with their participation in a virtual Higher Education Conference.

  • School Closure – Continuing pupils’ learning

    Following government guidelines, the school closed from the end of the day on Friday 20th March. In line with the guidelines a small number of pupils whose parents are key workers are being cared for in school.

  • SGS sports teams impress at national level

    It was a successful start to the year in sport at SGS with the Under 14 Netball squad crowned the third best team in the country and teams from a range of sports reaching the latter stages of national competitions.
