Squadron Leader Roy Stansfield (OS 1942)
Stockport Grammar School was saddened to receive notice that Old Stopfordian, Squadron Leader Roy Stansfield (OS 1942), sadly passed away on Tuesday 9th November 2021. He was aged 97.

Squadron Leader Stansfield was a loyal member of the Old Stopfordian community, and regularly attended the School Remembrance Services. He was also influential in arranging the presentation of the Battle of Britain plaque to the School in memory of Wing Commander Roy Marples DFC and Flight Sergeant Douglas Norman Rains, Old Stopfordians who had flown in the Battle of Britain.
