Coronation celebrations thrill Juniors

A timeline in the Junior School of the kings and queens of England

Junior School pupils marked the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen with a range of fun activities.

Dressed in red, white and blue, the children learned lots of facts about King Charles III and the Royal Family in an assembly delivered by the Head Girl and Boy.

During the day the pupils completed tasks and games such as creating their own portrait of King Charles, designing crowns, flag crafts, hobby horse racing and pinning the crown on the King!

They then ventured outside to enjoy a drink and cake over Union Jack table cloths at an outdoor ‘street party’.

Following the Coronation, Early Years and Key Stage One pupils marked the event by creating a memorabilia book.

The book features pictures of every child in front of the Union Jack flag, as well as some information about the new monarch.

It was created to help children in the future learn about the Coronation and see what interesting activities took place on the day.

Elsewhere in the Junior School, a timeline of the English monarchy has been installed.

In the Senior School, Head of Lower School Mrs Lawson delivered an informative assembly.
