Dancers make moves to reach prestigious final
Our amazing dancers are celebrating after making it to the final of a prestigious competition.
The 12 performers worked with Teacher of Dance Mrs Abi Downing and choreographer Dannielle ‘Rhimes’ Lecointe from ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company to create the ‘The Place’ piece which was performed at the Making Moves Regional Platform at The Lowry Theatre in March.
We are pleased to announce that the dancers have made it through to the Making Moves National Platform at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London.
As such, Stockport Grammar School is one of two schools from the North of England to have made it to the finals which will be held on 9th July.
Speaking about the selection, Mrs Downing commented: “We are absolutely thrilled that our piece has been chosen as one of only nine choreographies from across the country to be performed.
“This is an incredible privilege and is testimony to our dancers’ hard work, thoughtful creativity and dedication throughout this whole project – and indeed their whole school careers to date.”
