During the first week of the Easter Holidays, 49 pupils and six members of staff headed to Spain for the 2024 Barcelona Sports Tour.

Despite the early start, the students enjoyed the cultural sights of the Catalonian city, including the Arc de Triomf and the busy Marina. On their second day the group headed to PortAventura World theme park where they had a great time on the rides and rollercoasters before training commenced.

The U15s were up first, with the hockey and football sides playing the first fixtures of the tour. The football team were victorious against Mont-Roig, winning 3-1. Goals were scored by Oscar Miller, Joshua Muamba, and Alfie Kermode.

The hockey team played in a very competitive fixture against Illuro Club where they narrowly lost 3-2 with the goals being scored by Molly Mills and Giulia Burns.

On the third day the U14s hockey team made the journey to CD Terrassa Hockey Club which is nestled in the hillside where they enjoyed an intense two-hour training session in the sunshine. Their fixture against San Andreu ended 3-3 with Ella Hales scoring a hat-trick.

The boys enjoyed a leisurely morning before taking part in a training session. They then faced Le Salva and drew 2-2.

The penultimate day saw the hockey girls undertake a training session and then play matches against strong local club sides while the boys played a match against a local team and competed in a tournament.

The group also enjoyed the end of tour disco at the hotel before they flew back to Manchester early the next morning.

The pupils really enjoyed their time on the tour and made some great memories!
