Music course inspires local Year 2 children
During a four-week period, Year 2 children from local primary schools were invited into Stockport Grammar Junior School and given the opportunity to attend a series of music sessions with Miss Micklethwaite.
The children enjoyed immersing themselves in a range of fun and educational activities.
They explored timbre as they played on different percussion instruments and used African djembe drums to explore pulse and tempo.
The youngsters also sang new songs and took part in singing games to explore pitch.
In the final session, the children showed their parents what they had learned.
There were lots of smiling faces during the sessions and it was delightful to see the budding musicians clearly enjoying themselves!
