SGS chosen for prestigious choreography and performance project

Dancers pose for a photo after being selected for Sadler's Wells' Making Moves project

We are delighted that Stockport Grammar School has been successful with an application for a place on Sadler’s Wells’ Making Moves choreography and dance performance project!

This project was open to schools, youth groups and dance schools from across England and we are one of 48 groups to have been selected to participate.

The project’s aim is to raise the profile of dance being created in youth settings and will give us the chance to work with a renowned British choreographer – we have been assigned professional choreographer Danielle ‘Rhimes’ Lecointe from ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company.

Participants will also perform at a regional venue, receive feedback from industry professionals and potentially perform on Sadler’s Wells’ stage next year!

Dance Teacher Mrs Abi Downing said: “We are immensely proud and privileged to have been successful in our application for this Sadler’s Wells initiative.

“This is something a bit different from anything we have done before and I am sure it will be a fun, rewarding and exciting experience for all of the pupils involved.”
