Rebecca Coales
Rebecca is the UK’s leading female pool freediver holding National Records in breath-hold swimming with and without fins. Rebecca also competes in the related sport of fin swimming where she hold several age group records.
In total Rebecca has set 5 national records in pool freediving and represents the UK at international level. She is also a scuba diver, yoga teacher, surfer and environmentalist.
Rebecca started competitive freediving in 2013 with dives at the UK Championships and AIDA World Championships. She set a new Dynamic No Fins record in July of 120m, and extended that to 134m in November. In 2014 she won the Great Northern pool freediving championships and ladies UK champion title. She also extended the DNF national record to 145m. In July 2014 she set a new DYN record of 179m.
Rebecca trains with Bristol Freedivers club, which she founded in 2010, and Neptune Finswimming Club. She also trains with her coach Steve Millard (Apneists UK). Rebecca is supported by Team Bath sports department at Bath University.
