The Nursery is an integral part of the Junior School, providing children with a high quality of care and education. Children play and learn in a happy and stimulating environment that encourages their positive self esteem.

Children are eligible to join the Nursery at the start of the autumn term in September following their third birthday.

Working with parents

Our aim is to provide the highest standard of care and education for your child and a strong and purposeful partnership between staff and parents is important.

We will encourage a close liaison between you and staff as this is essential to creating a happy and secure environment. You will have many opportunities to be involved in Nursery activities.

Every effort is made to ensure that parents / carers are fully informed about the day to day running of the Nursery and qualified staff provide continuity of care for each child.

Facilities

The Nursery is in a self-contained unit on the Junior School site. It is very well resourced and has a designated outdoor play area.

The Nursery children also have supervised use of the Junior School hall, the playing fields and the swimming pool.

Curriculum

The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.

Play is highly valued and central to children’s care and education. Through carefully guided play activities the children are encouraged to explore, experience, discover, practice skills and develop ideas. They are helped to develop physically and emotionally and interact socially.

Nursery children are integrated into the life of the school, preparing them for a smooth transition to the Reception classes.
