Apply to the Sixth Form
You can apply for a place in the Sixth Form by completing the online admission form below. A fee of £75 per student is applicable upon submission of the online form. There is no formal deadline for applications to be made, although if an application includes consideration for a Bursary, applications should be made by the end of January in Fifth Year.

Cancellation Notice and Cancellation Form
Applicants may be offered a place subject to expected GCSE grades being achieved and a suitable reference from the applicant’s current school. Current Fifth Year pupils at Stockport Grammar School do not need to submit an application form.
Entry Requirements
Typical offers require:
- An average of 6 or higher across eight subjects at GCSE
- A minimum of a grade 5 in Mathematics, a Science subject and English Language or English Literature
In addition to these requirements, pupils will be expected to have attained at least a grade 6, ideally a higher grade, in subjects they wish to study at A Level.
Pupils who wish to study Mathematics, Science or a Language must have at least a grade 7 in the relevant GCSE subject, and pupils hoping to study Further Mathematics must have achieved a grade 8 or 9 in GCSE Mathematics.
Pupils intending to study four A Levels will be expected to achieve an average of a grade 8 at GCSE in their strongest eight subjects.
Interview
Applicants and their parents will be invited for an interview with Head Mrs Sarah Capewell and Head of Sixth Form Mr David Stone.
Offer of a place
Applicants may be offered a place subject to expected GCSE grades being achieved and a suitable reference from the applicant’s current school.
Typical offers require an average GCSE score of a grade 6 across the best eight subjects, with at least a grade 7 in Maths, Science and Languages if chosen for A Level. A grade 8 in Mathematics is also required if Further Maths is chosen for study at A Level.
