Apply to the Sixth Form
You can apply for a place in the Sixth Form by completing the online admission form below. A fee of £75 per student is applicable upon submission of the online form. There is no formal deadline for applications to be made, although if an application includes consideration for a Bursary, applications should be made by the end of January in Year 11.
Applicants may be offered a place subject to expected GCSE grades being achieved and a suitable reference from the applicant’s current school. Current Fifth Year pupils at Stockport Grammar School do not need to submit an application form.
Typical offers require:
- An average of 6 or higher across eight subjects at GCSE
- A minimum of a grade 5 in Mathematics, a Science subject and English Language or English Literature
In addition to these requirements, pupils will be expected to have attained at least a grade 6, ideally a higher grade, in subjects they wish to study at A Level.
Pupils who wish to study Mathematics, Science or a Language must have at least a grade 7 in the relevant GCSE subject, and pupils hoping to study Further Mathematics must have achieved a grade 8 or 9 in GCSE Mathematics.
Applicants and their parents will be invited for an interview with Head Mrs Sarah Capewell and Head of Sixth Form Mr David Stone.
