Visit the Sixth Form
We offer many ways to visit and experience Sixth Form life at SGS with individual tours, the Sixth Form Open Evening and taster days – we would be delighted to welcome you.
We would be pleased to welcome you for a school day tour. Please contact Hannah Atenyam on email@example.com or 0161 419 2408 to arrange your visit. During the lockdown from 6th January, all our visits will be virtual.
During tours in school, social distancing measures will be observed and we would ask that you please wear a face covering (this does not apply to children under the age of 11).
16+ Open Evening
Due to Government guidelines, this year’s Sixth Form Open Evening is a Virtual Event. Click here at any time to access the Open Event and watch video presentations from each of our A-level departments along with a series of short films by staff, current Sixth Formers and alumni. Had we been able to hold the event in school, we would have been proud to show you the newly opened Sixth Form social and study spaces, so please do take a moment to explore the photos of the new development.
Sixth Form taster days
Our taster days enable Fifth Year (Year 11) pupils to experience a day in our Sixth Form to help them find out more about the subjects they are interested in, meet our current students and staff and see our school.
What happens on a taster day?
Pupils can join us for a taster day on a mutually convenient date from September to April.
Most choose to spend a whole day with us but half-day sessions (9.10am to approximately 1pm or 1.40pm to 3.50pm) are also available.
Taster days are tailored around the subjects that the pupil is interested in. They will be accompanied by current Sixth Form students who share the same interests. We can also arrange for them to meet with subject teachers and senior members of staff.
Pupils don’t need to wear uniform but can choose to wear colours similar to the school’s. We provide a free lunch on whole day and morning taster sessions.
To book a taster day please contact our Admissions Officer, Margaret Connor, by telephone on 0161 419 2409 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
