Visit the Sixth Form
Our Sixth Form open events are for pupils wishing to join our Sixth Form from other schools as well as current Stockport Grammar pupils.
You will be able to speak to staff from every department about our Sixth Form courses and listen to talks by Headmaster Dr Paul Owen and our current pupils about Sixth Form life.
Senior members of staff will also be available to answer any questions you might have.
16+ Open Evening and tours of the School
Prospective 16+ students and their parents are very welcome to arrange a tour of the school.
Our 16+ Open Evening for 2020 entry will take place on Tuesday 15th October 2019 (6.45pm to 9pm). This is an excellent opportunity to visit the school, hear from the Headmaster and the Head of Sixth Form, meet our teachers and learn from our current students what it is like to study in the Sixth Form at Stockport Grammar School.
Sixth Form taster days
Our taster days enable Fifth Year (Year 11) pupils to experience a day in our Sixth Form to help them find out more about the subjects they are interested in, meet our current students and staff and see our school.
What happens on a taster day?
Pupils can join us for a taster day on a mutually convenient date from September to April.
Most choose to spend a whole day with us but half-day sessions (9.10am to approximately 1pm or 1.40pm to 3.50pm) are also available.
Taster days are tailored around the subjects that the pupil is interested in. They will be accompanied by current Sixth Form students who share the same interests. We can also arrange for them to meet with subject teachers and senior members of staff.
Pupils don’t need to wear uniform but can choose to wear colours similar to the school’s. We provide a free lunch on whole day and morning taster sessions.
