Science Laboratories

Sixth Form students conduct an experiment in Chemistry

The three Science subjects – Chemistry, Physics and Biology – are housed in purpose-built and well-equipped rooms.

Chemistry

We have five well-equipped laboratories. One of the laboratories incorporates six fume cupboards for A-level experimental work of a more hazardous nature.

Physics

The Physics block, which opened in September 2005, was purpose built and designed to satisfy the school’s requirements for state-of-the-art resources. There are five modern, well-equipped laboratories, each with its own computing facilities, visualiser and digital projector and the department prides itself on its resources and range of modern equipment.

Biology

Our Biology department boasts five recently-refurbished laboratories and a Sixth Form teaching room. Each laboratory is extremely well-equipped, containing all basic laboratory apparatus and a variety of specialist equipment. Each has audio-visual equipment to allow the watching of videos and DVDs and we also have integrated computers and projectors so that we can use PowerPoint or other computer presentations.
