Senior School rules
Pupils are expected to behave in such a manner as to maintain the good reputation of Stockport Grammar School, showing courtesy and consideration to other people at all times. Unruly conduct in public, inappropriate use of electronic communication systems or any offence against the law will be considered a serious breach of this tenet.
Pupil discipline policy
It is the school’s aim to educate its pupils in a happy and safe environment where common sense, mutual respect and shared responsibility ensure they feel secure and can realise their potential. In both the Senior and Junior School pupils are expected to maintain high standards of behaviour and conduct, at all times showing courtesy and respect for others through the promotion of self discipline, consideration and honesty in a caring environment. In a world with few positive constants the school seeks to encourage across the whole age range a sense of community and pride in Stockport Grammar School. To that end it insists on the highest standards of dress and deportment.
Junior School behaviour policy
Through its pastoral care arrangements and provision, Stockport Grammar Junior School, including the Early Years Foundation Stage and Infant department, demonstrates its continuing concern for the personal and social development of all its pupils, regardless of their age, sex, race and ability. We strive to ensure each child becomes a fully participating member of the school and its wider community. It is the hope of all staff that pupils will be polite, well mannered independent thinkers who embrace challenge, both academically and pastorally supported by self belief and a desire to succeed. Supported by parents and staff, pupils are encouraged to adhere to the school’s code of conduct.
Bullying policy
In accordance with the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 the school has drawn up procedures to prevent bullying among pupils and to bring these procedures to the attention of staff, parents and pupils in both the Senior School and the Junior School.
