Stockport Grammar Junior School is committed to developing the skills of citizenship, personal responsibility and care for one another. As part of this commitment, Year Six pupils were invited to apply for positions of responsibility. Below is the list for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Thanks to the amazing Stopfordian Parents’ Association volunteers, each year the SGS community of parents and pupils comes together to have fun while raising funds to enhance the children’s school experience. Every parent is automatically a member and invited to attend the AGM on the 28th September (6.30pm in the Governors’ Room).

The Junior School year was brought to a rousing conclusion with the annual Prize Giving on Thursday 6th July in the Dining Hall.

The penultimate week of the Summer term saw pupils put their best foot forward for their House as they took part in their Sports Day!

248 young mathematicians from 33 primary schools across Greater Manchester gathered at Stockport Grammar School on the 26th and 27th June for the annual Maths Challenges for Year 5 children.

The Junior School’s Year 5 and 6 Choir enjoyed a fabulous and memorable four-day concert tour to Cambridge and Ely.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Stockport Grammar School’s Bursary Golf Day, in association with Vernon Building Society, was blessed with stunning blue skies, warm weather and a course in fantastic condition.

During May, pupils in Years Four, Five and Six had an unforgettable time as they embarked on their residentials.

Nursery boys and girls were thrilled to welcome Little Barn Mobile Farm into school as they found out more about farm life and caring for animals.

A number of Year Five and Six pupils had an amazing time in Bardonecchia, Italy as they embarked on a ski trip.

Junior School pupils marked the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen with a range of fun activities.

Year Six pupils had a blast as they delivered a number of amazing performances of their production, Roald Dahl’s ‘Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf’.

Junior School pupils marked World Book Day by taking part in a wide range of creative and thought-provoking activities.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary, the Stockport Grammar School Year 5 Art Competition welcomed 127 artists from 18 local primary schools to an exhibition evening to showcase their work to family and friends.

Year Five pupils at STEM Club have had a great time taking part in a range of creative tasks so far this academic year.
